Research Scholarships

 

Australian Postgraduate Award (Industry) on Scaffolds for bone tissue
regeneration and use in orthopaedic applications

For a research project leading to a PhD; the objective of the research
project is to explore the in vitro and in vivo behavior of scaffolds for
skeletal tissue regeneration; applicants should have an H1 or 2A degree
and or masters in Molecular/Cellular Biology, Science or Biomedical
Engineering; applicants must be Australian citizens, Australian
permanent residents or New Zealand citizens; stipend is $26,669 pa; up
to 3 years.

Postgraduate Research Scholarship in Advanced Analysis Methods for
Locally Unstable Steel Structures

For a student interested in pursuing a PhD degree in advanced analysis
and design of locally unstable steel structures; the objective of the
PhD study is to investigate the influence of local buckling on the
global behaviour of steel frames; applicants must have an Hons degree in
engineering and a sound knowledge of structural engineering; $22,500 pa;
up to 3 years.

Other Scholarships

 

National Climate Change Adaptation Research Facility - Terrestrial
Biodiversity Adaptation Research Network - Honours and Masters Project
funding, and PhD Student Collaboration Travel Grants

10 honours / masters research grants valued at $7,000 each will be
offered; applications will be accepted in a wide range of disciplines
however the research undertaken must be relevant to the area of climate
change adaptation for Terrestrial Biodiversity; applicants must be
domestic students; 10 grants are available for PhD students to visit and
collaborate with national and international labs and research centre's
in order to help them gain skills not provided in their own research
environment; up to a maximum of $3,000.

Closing Date:  1 April 2010

 

 

International Education Association Inc (ISANA) Bursaries

For research at the post-graduate level in a university in Australia or
New Zealand, into areas relating to the education, support and
well-being of international students studying in these countries;
bursaries will range in value from $1,500 to $500. 

Closing Date:  8 May 2010

 

Australian Federation of Graduate Women Inc  - AFGW Fellowship

Available to women who are enrolled in a PhD at any Australian
university; the funds are to be used for a specific project or purpose
for PhD research in any field; minimum tenure is 6 months; applicants
must be Australian citizens or permanent residents of Australia; $4,000.
