Research Scholarships

 

Postgraduate Scholarship in Microstructure-Property Relationships in
Cast Strip Steels

A scholarship is available for a candidate to undertake studies in steel
strip production; the student will be based at the University of Sydney
and work closely with the BlueScope Steel Research Centre in Wollongong;
applicants must have a good degree in engineering or science and an
interest in material science and engineering; international students are
welcome to apply however this scholarship does not cover any tuition
fees payable by international students; $26,700pa; up to three years.

Postgraduate Scholarship in Selectively Braced Steel Scaffolding Systems

The school of Civil Engineering has a scholarship for a student
interested in pursuing a PhD degree in design of high-strength steel
scaffolding systems; the topic of this project is to develop new
selective bracing configurations, and to develop a new generation of
joints with enhanced stiffness; applicants must have an Honours Bachelor
degree in engineering and a sound knowledge of structural engineering;
the scholarship does not cover tuition fees for international students
but a separate tuition waiver scholarship may be provided for
international students by the School of Civil Engineering; $22,500pa; up
to three years.
