Research Scholarships

 

Australian Postgraduate Research Award (Industry) on Aerial Motion of
Athletes

A full time PhD scholarship is available for research project in
mathematical sciences; the project aims to measure and model the aerial
motion of platform and springboard divers and to develop optimal control
to improve performance; applicants should have an Honours 1 or 2A degree
in mathematics or engineering; applicants must be Australian citizens,
Australian permanent residents or New Zealand citizens; international
students can apply but the scholarship does not cover any tuition fees
payable by international students; this scholarship is conditional on
the University formalising an agreement with the NSW Institute of Sport;
$27,222; up to three years.

Postgraduate Scholarship in Structural Studies of Hydrophobins Proteins
and Protein Self-Assembly

A full time postgraduate scholarship is available to undertake research
studies leading to a PhD in biochemistry; the project is to investigate
the structural and physiochemical properties of different fungal
hydrophobin proteins and the mechanism of protein self assembly;
applications should have a degree in biochemistry, protein chemistry,
molecular biology or biotechnology; applicants should be enrolled for a
PhD at the University of Sydney; $22,500pa; up to three years.

PhD Scholarships in Basic Medical Research

The Children's Medical Research Institute (CMRI) is offering several PhD
scholarship opportunities in a range of fields including embryology,
glycoproteomics, cell transformation, cell biology, cancer research, eye
genetics, and cell signaling; applications are open to local and
international students, however these scholarships do not cover tuition
fees payable by international students and international students must
have obtained an external scholarship to cover their tuition fees.

Overseas Scholarships

 

Association for Canadian Studies in Australia and New Zealand (ACSANZ)
and the International Council for Canadian Studies (ICCS) Canadian
Studies Awards

On offer are several grants to conduct research in/on Canada;
applications are invited for 2011 and include the ACSANZ Postgraduate
Travel Award valued at A$3,000, ICCS Graduate Student Scholarship valued
at C$3,500, and ICCS Best Doctoral Thesis in Canadian Studies
