NEWS ITEMS:
Sydnovate is currently sponsoring 5 places at the Australian Technology
Park (ATP) Commercialisation Workshop. The two day workshop held in
Sydney on 8-9 September 2010, is aimed particularly at graduate and
post-graduate students and seeks to explore ways to commercialise your

AusBiotech-GSK Student Excellence Awards are now open for students to
present their research at the AusBiotech10 conference in Melbourne on
19-22 October 2010. The Awards Aim to recognise and encourage research
student and to raise awareness of research translation and applications.

Research Scholarships
Postgraduate Scholarship in Conopeptides for Chronic Pain
A full-time postgraduate scholarship is available for a suitably
qualified candidate to undertake research studies leading to a PhD in
Neuroscience; the project is to investigate conopeptides for chronic
pain; applicants should have a good honours degree (or equivalent) and
must be Australian citizens, Australian permanent residents or New
Zealand citizens; $22,500pa; up to three years.

Heart Foundation Summer Scholarships
The National Heart Foundation of Australia offers Summer Scholarships to
provide undergraduates the opportunity to participate in supervised
Biomedical, Clinical or Public Health research projects which are
broadly related to cardiovascular function and disease, during the
summer vacation at an Australian University or Institution; applicants
must be Australian citizens on permanent residents and must be based in
Australia; tenable for six to eight weeks and are valued at up to
$2,000.
