Postgraduate Scholarship in Biomechanics 
For an existing research project at AMME; the objective of the project is to develop multi-scale remodelling algorithms for orthopaedic or dental implants with porous surfaces; applicants should have a relevant research track record in biomedical or mechanical engineering or relevant discipline; $12,000 pa; up to 1 year.

The Australian Centre for Field Robotics (ACFR) Rio Tinto Centre for Mine Automation Scholarships in Field Robotics
The ACFR is seeking students interested in PhD research in the area of autonomous systems, including data fusion, perception, control, learning and systems; applicants should have a H1 degree in mechanical/mechatronics engineering, mining engineering, electrical engineering, aeronautical/aerospace engineering, mathematics, physics, computer science or related discipline or extensive appropriate professional experience; up to 3 years; $26,407 pa.

The Col Reynolds Research Scholar Award in Paediatric Cancer Research
For research studies leading to a PhD; research in the Oncology Research Unit focuses on tumours of childhood and adolescence that have a poor patient prognosis; $30,000 pa ($5,000 Scholar ‘top-up’ and $25,000 for research materials for project and travel); up to 3 years; applicants must hold BSc degree with H1 or equivalent, or current B Sc (Hons) enrolment with anticipation of H1 result; the scholar must secure a primary competitive PhD scholarship, such as APA, or UPA through the Oncology Research Unit; be an Australian citizen or permanent resident, or New Zealand citizen

Postgraduate Scholarship in Superconductors
For research studies leading to a PhD in superconductors; the project is to investigate the microscopic origin of the interesting properties in superconductors by using advanced microscopy and microanalysis; applicant should have an H1 or 2A or equivalent degree in science or engineering; $28,000 pa; up to 3 years.

Commonwealth Scholarship and Fellowship Plan (CSFP) UK for 2010
Applications are now invited for the 2010 CSFP (UK) awards for Doctoral degrees of up to three years duration or one year research on a split-site basis towards a PhD registered at a university in Australia; awards are tenable in all subjects at selected UK institutions of higher education from September/October 2010; candidates must be Australian citizens; hold by 1 October 2010, a first degree with upper second class standard, or higher qualification; be available, by 1 October 2010 to commence their academic studies in the 2010/2011 academic year; benefits include return airfares to the United Kingdom, approved tuition and other compulsory university fees (excluding board and residence), and a personal maintenance allowance.
