Postgraduate Completion Scholarship in Organic Chemistry

A scholarship is available for a suitably qualified candidature who has
successfully progressed and who is currently enrolled full-time in a
Masters of Science degree; the research field is in Porphyrins;
international students can apply although tuition fees payable by
international students are not covered; $12,000pa (pro-rata);6 months
only. 

Closing Date:  16 September 2009. 

 

ARC Centre of Excellence for Design in Light Metals Postgraduate
Scholarship

A full-time postgraduate scholarship is available for an enthusiastic
candidate to undertake research studies leading to a PhD in microscopy
and microanalysis; the project aims to design and evaluate
micro-structural architectures using state-of-the-art microscopy and
microanalysis techniques; applicants should have an Honours 1 or 2A or
equivalent degree in science or engineering and experience in microscopy
and microanalysis is essential; applicants must be Australian citizens,
Australian permanent residents, or New Zealand citizens; international
students can apply but the scholarship does not cover any tuition fees
payable; $26,669pa; up to three years.

The Medical Foundation/Meniere's Research Fund Scholarship

Sydney Medical School is offering a scholarship towards a higher degree
by research for a suitably qualified candidate undertaking research in
the area of Meniere's disease; applicants must have completed the
equivalent of an Australian Bachelor degree and be either Australian
citizens or permanent residents, or citizens of New Zealand; $22,000pa;
up to three years.

The British Chevening Scholarships

The Chevening Scholarships offers outstanding graduates and young
professionals the opportunity to study at UK universities; offered for
one year of formal study for a postgraduate qualification or for a
shorter period of at least three months to pursue research at a
university or similar institution in the UK; the scholarship includes a
return economy airfare to the UK from any Australian city, all
compulsory academic fees, monthly stipend, book allowance, and thesis
allowance; candidates should have a strong undergraduate degree ideally
with Honours1 or 2A; applicants must be citizens or permanent residents
of Australia.

Closing Date: 18 October 2009

 

Gates Cambridge Scholarship

The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation have donated funds to enable
outstanding graduate students from outside the United Kingdom to study
at the University of Cambridge; applicants selected on intellectual
ability, leadership capacity, and desire to use their knowledge to
contribute to society; applicants must be citizens of any country
outside the United Kingdom; applicants must hold a first class or second
class honours degree or equivalent.
