REMINDER: 2010 Semester 1 APA/UPA Scholarships close for application on

REMINDER: Research Funding Information Session - Heart Foundation. The
National Heart Foundation of Australia (NHF) will be conducting an
information session detailing awards currently on offer by the Heart
Foundation in clinical, biomedical or public health research. The
session will be invaluable for all researchers, particularly those
applying for the first time and will provide useful tips on what to do
to maximise your chances of receiving funding. To be held on Monday 26
October 2009 from 12.00pm - 1:00pm, Architecture Lecture Theatre 3,
Wilkinson Building G04, Maze Crescent, Darlington Campus (Near Wentworth
Building). All those wishing to attend need to register on-line with the
Heart Foundation at: www.heartfoundation.org.au/information_sessions

Faculty of Nursing and Midwifery PhD Scholarship 

A full-time postgraduate scholarship is available in the Faculty of
Nursing and Midwifery for a suitably qualified candidate to undertake
research studies leading to a PhD in infection control/emerging
infectious diseases; extensive clinical experience and research within
this area is highly desirable; applicants must be Australian citizens,
Australian permanent residents or New Zealand citizens; $25,000pa; up to
three years. 

Closing Date:  20 November 2009

 

Peter Lawrence and Carlyle Greenwell Postgraduate Scholarship in
Anthropology

A full-time postgraduate scholarship is available for a suitably
qualified candidate with a good degree in social or cultural
anthropology to undertake research studies leading to an M. Phil or PhD;
for students undertaking overseas fieldwork or research; preference
given to studies in anthropology and related interdisciplinary studies
of Papua New Guinea and other areas of Melanesia, Micronesia, Polynesia
and Southeast Asia; Applicants should have an Hons 1 or 2A or equivalent
degree in Anthropology; $22,500pa; up to three years.

Postgraduate Scholarship in Clinical and Rehabilitation Sciences

A full-time PhD scholarship is available for a suitably qualified
individual with an Honours or research Masters Degree in the
physiotherapy discipline to undertake research studies within the
Faculty of Health Sciences; to investigate walk training in people with
chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD);  applicants should have at
least 3 years clinical experience in the area of respiratory
physiotherapy including the area of pulmonary rehabilitation; valued at
the NHMRC priority rate ($26,359pa in 2009); up to three years.

The Rebecca L Cooper PhD Scholarship in Lung Diseases

A PhD scholarship is available to investigate the pathophysiology of
asthma, using the latest cutting edge biological techniques in addition
to our standard techniques (real time PCR, microarrays and Westerns);
applicants should have Honours1 or 2a or equivalent; applicants should
be Australian citizens, Australian permanent residents, or New Zealand
citizens; $22,500pa; up to 3 years.

Postgraduate Scholarship in Children's Health and Education

A full time postgraduate scholarship is available for an enthusiastic
candidate to undertake research studies leading to a PhD; the project is
to promote children's health and well-being through improvements in the
interface between health and education; applicants must hold an honours
degree or equivalent in an appropriate discipline; applicants must be
Australian  citizens, Australian permanent residents, or New Zealand
citizens; $25,000pa; up to three years.

The Australian Institute of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander
Studies (AIATSIS) Research Grants Round 2010

The AIATSIS grants round is now open for application; will fund research
into a wide range of areas in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander
Studies, such as history, politics, law, public policy, health;
biological sciences, education, Indigenous knowledge systems,
linguistics, social anthropology, archaeology and the arts; applicants
should refer to the Information for Research Grant applicants for full
details about how to apply.
