REVISED: The Medical Foundation/Meniere's Research Fund Scholarship
Sydney Medical School is offering a scholarship towards a PhD for a
suitably qualified candidate undertaking research in the area of
Meniere's disease; applicants must have completed the equivalent of an
Australian Bachelor degree and be either Australian citizens or
permanent residents, or citizens of New Zealand; $22,000pa; up to three
years.

Australian Postgraduate Award (Industry) on Gene Expression in the
Hepatitis C Virus Infected Host
A full-time PhD scholarship is available for a research project leading
to a PhD in immunology; the PhD student is to study gene expression in
hepatitis C virus (HCV) infected individuals and using cell cultures as
part of a project to develop diagnostic markers to predict response to
therapy; applicants should have an Honours 1 or 2A degree in
bioinformatics or related field such as biological sciences, IT,
mathematics and statistics; international applicants are welcome to
apply however the scholarship does not cover any tuition fees payable by
international students; $26,669pa; up to three years.

Children's Hospital at Westmead Mitochondrial Diseases Research
Scholarship
A scholarship is being offered in 2010 Semester 1 to a student who
undertakes a PhD working on molecular and functional studies in the
mitochondrial respiratory chain disorders; applicants should have an
Honours Class 1 degree from an Australian university (or equivalent);
applicants must be Australian citizens, Australian permanent residents,
or New Zealand citizens; $25,000pa; up to three years.
