Research Scholarships 

Postgraduate Scholarship in Protein Trafficking and Colon Cancer

A full-time post-graduate scholarship is available to undertake studies
leading to a PhD in the Faculty of Medicine at Westmead Institute for
Cancer Research; the project will study regulation of the colon cancer
proteins APC and beta-catenin, investigating their intracellular
transport and localisation using a range of techniques including
cellular fractionation, study of protein-protein interactions, confocal
and electron microscopy; applicants must be Australian citizens,
Australian permanent residents or New Zealand citizens and must have a
BSc (Honours); $22,500 per annum; up to three years.

Other Scholarships

2010 Wentworth Group Science Program Scholarships

These scholarships are to enable recipients to become active
contributors at the interface of good decision making and world class
science; not intended as direct support for thesis research or a
scholarship stipend; aimed at building capacity by mentoring and
supporting young natural resources scientists and resource economists to
develop their skills and understanding of public policy.

Overseas Scholarships

2010 Churchill Fellowship

The Churchill Trust was established in Australia in 1965 to honour the
memory of Sir Winston Churchill by awarding overseas research
Fellowships known as Churchill Fellowships; allows you to design your
own research project, travel the world and further your knowledge in
your chosen field, before returning to make a real contribution to
Australian society; for travel overseas for a minimum of four and a
maximum of about eight weeks to conduct research. 

Closing Date:  26 February 2010

 

Chinese Government Scholarships for Study in China

The Chinese Government Scholarship Programme is a series of scholarships
set up to support cooperation and exchange between China and other
countries in the fields of education, science, culture, economy and
trade; applicants may choose one academic programme and indicate up to
three preferred institutions of study, to be taken from the list of
Chinese higher education institutions as designated by the Ministry of
Education; applicants must be Australian passport holders; a range of
costs are covered including a living allowance.
