NEWS: University of Sydney Travelling Scholarships
The University of Sydney Travelling Scholarships are currently open for
applications. These scholarships are open to graduates or graduands of
the University of Sydney who are of not more than four years standing
from qualifying for their final undergraduate degree.
Scholarships shall normally be awarded to enable scholars to undertake
studies or research overseas. Applicants must be Australian citizens or
permanent residents. Scholarship conditions vary but usually include an
annual stipend of $20,000 and supplementation up to $2,000 to cover the
cost of airfares.

Postgraduate Scholarship in Agriculture
A full-time postgraduate scholarship is available for a suitably
qualified candidate with a good honours degree in science or related
field to undertake research studies leading to a PhD; the project will
investigate soil respiration using the latest techniques in infrared gas
analysis, laser-based spectroscopy and stable isotopes; $25,000pa; up to
three years.
Closing Date: 1 April 2009
Post-graduate scholarship on serious bacterial infection in children
under 5 years
A full-time post graduate scholarship is available for a suitably
qualified candidate with a medical or health-related degree to undertake
research studies leading to a PhD; The candidate will be utilizing two
existing databases to examine triage and medical assessment details,
investigation results, admission details, (if relevant) and follow-up
care and health outcome; Applicants must be Australian citizens or
permanent residents of Australia; $30,000pa; up to three years.
