Australian Postgraduate Award (Industry) on Balinese Art

A PhD scholarship is available at the School of Languages and Cultures,
working in conjunction with the Australian Museum, Sydney, as part of a
project examining Balinese painting; applicants should have an Honours 1
or 2A or equivalent; applicants must be Australian or New Zealand
citizens or Australian Permanent Residents; $26,140pa; up to three
years. 

Closing Date:   20 March 2009

 

JW and ICM Roderick Scholarship

A JW and ICM Roderick Scholarship is available for a suitably qualified
student with an Honours degree (or equivalent) in Engineering or Science
to undertake full time research leading to a PhD degree; for study in
modelling the mechanical behaviour of hexagonal materials during complex
loadings; $20,427pa for up to three years; local and international
students may apply but the scholarship does not cover any tuition fees;
separate tuition fees scholarships may be provided for international
students from the School of Civil Engineering.

Postgraduate Scholarship in Tissue Engineering and Biomaterials Research

A full-time postgraduate scholarship is available for a suitably
qualified candidate with an honours degree in Science or Biomedical
Engineering to undertake research studies leading to a PhD; the project
will lead to the development of biphasic scaffolds for bone and
cartilage tissue regeneration; applicants must be Australian citizens or
Australian permanent residents; $29,000pa; up to three years. 

Closing Date:  30 April 2009

 

Postgraduate Scholarship on Spectral Domain Optical Coherence Tomography
(OCT) in a Cohort of Adolescents

This scholarship is funded by a NHMRC project grant and is to support a
full-time student for 2009; the project will utilise high resolution OCT
measurements from participants in the Sydney Adolescent Vascular and Eye
Disease Study (SAVES), to define the population distribution of macular,
nerve fibre layer and optic nerve features in adolescents; applicants
must hold an MBBS, preferably with Honours, and be planning to enter
ophthalmology training; applicants must be citizens or permanent
residents of Australia; $30,378; up to one year.

Other Scholarships

 

Heart Foundation Travel Grants 

The Heart Foundation (HF) offers Travel Grants to researchers working in
the area of cardiovascular disease or related areas; travel grants are
open to Australian citizens or permanent residents; applicants must be
based in Australia; two periods of travel available with limited budget
allocation for each period.
