2009 University of Sydney Grants-in-Aid

Grants-in-Aid provides enrolled students with travel grants to support
short-term periods of research overseas, and most grants are open only
to full-time postgraduate research students. A reminder that the 2009
Grants-in-Aid are now open for applications, and will close on 30th

PhD Scholarship- Buckle up safely: pre-school based interventions for
appropriate use of child restraints

This scholarship will provide support for three years on a full time
basis for a research project leading to a PhD; the aim of this research
is to test the effectiveness of a comprehensive intervention to increase
the use of appropriate child restraints and decrease misuse of child
restraints in pre-school aged children travelling in cars; applicants
should hold an appropriate Honours 1 or high 2A (or equivalent)
undergraduate degree; applicants must be Australian citizens, Australian
permanent residents, or New Zealand citizens; $20,427pa.

Postgraduate Scholarship in Superconductors

A full time postgraduate scholarship is available for an enthusiastic
candidate to undertake research studies leading to a PhD in
superconductors; the project is to investigate the microscopic origin of
the interesting properties in superconductors by using advanced
microscopy and microanalysis; applicants should have an Honours 1 or 2A
or equivalent degree in science or engineering; applicants must be
Australian citizens, Australian permanent residents, or New Zealand
citizens; international student can apply but the scholarship does not
cover any tuition fees payable by international students; $28,000 per
annum; up to three years.

Multiple Sclerosis Research Australia Postgraduate Scholarships

Multiple Sclerosis Research Australia (MSRA) is offering scholarships to
graduates to undertake full time study for a higher degree (PhD or
Masters by Research) in an Australian university or institution;
applicants must be Australian citizens or who have been granted
permanent residence status and have lived in Australia continuously for
12 months before submitting the application; the stipend is based on
NHMRC medical or biomedical graduate rate. 

Closing date: 17 June 2009
