The Australian Centre for Field Robotics (ACFR) Rio Tinto Centre for
Mining Automation Scholarship in Field Robotics

The new Centre for Mining Automation aims to develop and implement the
vision of a fully autonomous, remotely operated mine; students
interested in PhD research in the area of autonomous systems, including
data fusion, perception, control, learning and systems can apply for
this full time scholarship sponsored by Rio Tinto; applicants should
have a first class Honours degree in mechanical/mechatronics
engineering, mining engineering, electrical engineering,
aeronautical/aerospace engineering, mathematics, physics, computer
science or a related discipline or extensive appropriate professional
experience; $26,407pa; up to three years.

The ARC Centre of Excellence for Autonomous Systems (CAS) Scholarships
in Field Robotics


Two scholarships are available in autonomous systems at the ARC Centre
of Excellence for Autonomous Systems (CAS); one in the area of
autonomous systems, including perception, control, learning and systems;
another for a specific PhD thesis on "Persistent Autonomy for an
Autonomous Outdoor Mobile Robot"; applicants should have a first class
honours degree in aeronautical/aerospace engineering,
mechanical/mechatronics engineering, electrical engineering,
mathematics, physics, computer science or related discipline or
extensive appropriate professional experience; $26,407 pa; up to three
years.

Post Graduate Scholarship in Cardiac Imaging 

A full-time scholarship for one year is available for a suitably
qualified candidate with Medical degrees, and postgraduate specialty
training in Cardiology (FRACP) to undertake research studies leading to
a Masters Degree in Medicine; the project is to investigate the
relationships between cardiac risk factors and cardiac CT; $29,753pa; up
to one year.

Postgraduate Scholarship in Dermatology

A full-time postgraduate scholarship is available for a suitable
candidate with a medical qualification (MBBS) to undertake research
studies leading to an MPhil in dermatology. The project is to
investigate the effects of topical photodynamic therapy on human skin
immune responses; $26 000pa; up to two years.

Concord Hospital Hepatology scholarship in the study of non-invasive
measure of liver disease

A scholarship is being offered to a student who undertakes a higher
degree by research in the area of non invasive markers of liver disease;
applicants should have passed first part FRACP exam, with interest in
completing training in the specialty of gastroenterology, with
particular focus on hepatology, and must also be commencing full time
Master of Philosophy through the Faculty of Medicine at the University
of Sydney in semester 1, 2009; applicants must be Australian citizens,
Australian permanent residents, or New Zealand citizens; $30,000pa; up
to one year.

School of Psychology PhD Completion Scholarships 2008

Applications are now open for a PhD Completion Scholarship for students
enrolled on a full-time basis in the School of Psychology who are
intending to submit their thesis by the August, 2009 census date, and
who do not have any other financial award during this final period of
their candidature; equivalent of an APA stipend; maximum 6 months and
covers the period leading up to the relevant census date (or date of
thesis submission if this occurs before the census date).

Forrest and Wood Products Australia Postgraduate Scholarship

FWPA scholarships are awarded for research contributing to nominated
priority areas of interest to Australian forest based industries;
applicants must possess a minimum of a second-class honours degree and
meet all admission requirements of the host academic institution;
$25,000pa; up to three years.
