Research Scholarships

Postgraduate Scholarship in Sleep and Neurodegenerative Disease

A full-time postgraduate scholarship is available for a suitably
qualified candidate with a good honours degree in neuropsychology,
psychology, clinical neuroscience or applied physiology; this study will
examine the relationship between sleep architecture and memory across a
range of neurodegenerative diseases; applicants should have at least an
Honours 2A Degree; applicants should be Australian citizens, Australian
permanent residents or New Zealand citizens; $26,000pa; up to three
years.

Postgraduate Scholarship on the Role of Values, Ethics and Evidence in
Obesity Intervention

This scholarship is funded by an NHMRC Project grant and provides
support a full-time research project leading to a PhD; the research
project will employ ethnographic and grounded theory methodologies to
investigate the role of values, ethics and evidence in population-level
interventions in overweight and obesity; applicants should have a good
Bachelors Honours degree or a Masters Degree in public health, health
promotion, social science, bioethics, or a related discipline;
applicants must be Australian citizens, Australian permanent residents
or New Zealand citizens; $22,500pa; up to three years.

Sydney Medical School Foundation/ Bluesand Foundation Scholarship for
Alzheimer's Disease Research

On offer is a scholarship towards a higher degree by research for a
suitably qualified candidate undertaking research in the area of
Alzheimer's Disease; applicants must be Australian citizens, Australian
permanent residents, or New Zealand citizens; applicants must have
completed the equivalent of an Australian Bachelor degree and be
accepted for full-time study within Sydney Medical School at the
University of Sydney; $25,000; up to three years.

Australian Postgraduate Award (Industry) on the Role of Arts Education
in Academic Motivation, Engagement, and Achievement

This scholarship will provide support for a research project leading to
a PhD; the objective of the project is to explore the effect of arts
education on student motivation, engagement and achievement in selected
primary and secondary schools; applicants should have an Honours 1 or 2A
degree (or equivalent Masters degree) in education; applicants must be
Australian citizens, Australian permanent residents or New Zealand
citizens; $26,140pa; up to three years.
