Research Scholarships 

 

Postgraduate Scholarship in Polymer Science

 A full-time postgraduate scholarship is available for a suitably
qualified candidate to undertake research studies leading to a PhD in
Chemistry; the project is to develop new polymeric materials for
application in homecare products; Applicants must be Australian
citizens, Australian permanent residents or New Zealand citizens and
must have an Honours degree in Chemistry; $26,669pa; up to three years.

Postgraduate scholarship on clinical decision-making 

A full-time postgraduate scholarship is available for a suitably
qualified candidate with an interest in health economics to undertake
research studies leading to a PhD; the project is to investigate
patients', carers' and clinicians' preferences for the prevention, early
detection and intervention in areas of kidney disease; applicants must
be Australian citizens or Australian permanent residents; $32,000pa; up
to three years.

Postgraduate Scholarship in Epidemiology/ Applied Biostatistics

A full-time postgraduate scholarship is available for a suitably
qualified candidate with a good academic record to undertake research
studies leading to a PhD; the project is to assess the level of a range
of novel serum biomarkers for predicting adverse pregnancy outcomes such
as fetal growth restriction, stillbirth and preeclampsia; applicants
must have a strong academic record and be Australian citizens,
Australian permanent residents or New Zealand citizens; $30,000pa; up to
three years.

Australian Postgraduate Award (Industry) in Fuzzy Spatial Temporal
Climate Modelling

This scholarship will provide support for 3 years on a full-time basis
for a research project leading to a PhD; the objective of the research
project is to develop a prediction model of seasonal rainfall and
temperature based on fuzzy clusters; applicants should have an Honours 1
or 2A degree in an applicable area; $27,222pa; up to three years.

Postgraduate Scholarship in Fuzzy Modelling and Data Capture 

A full-time postgraduate scholarship is available for a suitably
qualified candidate

to undertake research studies leading to a PhD; . The project is to
develop web based data acquisition systems for farm level rainfall data
and to develop smart algorithms for fuzzy clustering of the spatial and
temporal data; applicants should have a strong background in an
appropriate field; $27,222; up to three years.

Australian Postgraduate Award (Industry) in Health Informatics Research

An exciting opportunity exists for a PhD candidate to work in a new area
of health informatics research related to how health professionals can
work with information and communication technology to improve delivery
of care and outcomes for patients; applicants should have an Honours 1
or equivalent and be Australian citizens, Australian permanent residents
or New Zealand citizens; $26,669pa; up to three years.

Postgraduate Scholarship in Adherence to Novel Interventions and
Treatments

A full-time postgraduate scholarship is available for an enthusiastic
candidate with a good honours degree in psychology or a related field to
undertake research studies leading to a PhD in Psychological Medicine,
Psychology or Medical Sciences; the project involves a randomised
controlled trial of a novel internet intervention in mood disorders,
cognition and cardiovascular disease; $22,500pa plus a $3,000pa top-up;
up to three years.

Postgraduate Scholarship in Stigma and Discrimination of Mental
Disorders

A full-time postgraduate scholarship is available for an enthusiastic
candidate with a good honours degree in psychology or a related field to
undertake research studies leading to a PhD in Psychological Medicine,
Psychology or Medical Sciences; the project looks at stigma or
discrimination experienced by people with mental disorder; $22,500pa
plus a $3,000pa top-up; up to three years.

John Carter Brown Library Short-Term Fellowships

John Carter Brown Library Short-Term Fellowships are available for
periods of two to four months and carry a stipend of US$2,100 per month;
for scholars whose work is centered on the colonial history of the
Americas, North and South, including all aspects of the European,
African, and Native American involvement; open to those who are engaged
in pre- or post-doctoral, or independent, research.

Overseas Scholarships 

 

Doctoral fellowships in economic sociology and political economy

The International Max Planck Research School on the Social and Political
Constitution of the Economy (IMPRS-SPCE) offered jointly by the Max
Planck Institute for the Study of Societies and the University of
Cologne invites suitable candidates to apply for up to seven doctoral
fellowships in economic sociology and political economy.
