Australian Postgraduate Award (Industry) in Immunological Biophotonics
The Interdisciplinary Photonics Laboratories (iPL) within the School of
Chemistry of the University of Sydney are offering a scholarship on a
full-time basis for a research project leading to a PhD; the project
involves research into developing the next generation of
ultra-sensitive, massively parallel, photonic immunologic diagnostic
assays; applicants must have an Honours 1 or 2A degree; international
students can apply however tuition fees payable by international
students are not covered; $26,669pa; up to three years.
Closing Date: 14 January 2010
Postgraduate Scholarship in Epidemiology/ Applied Biostatistics
A full-time postgraduate scholarship is available for a suitably
qualified candidate with a good academic record to undertake research
studies leading to a PhD; the project is to assess the level of a range
of novel serum biomarkers for predicting adverse pregnancy outcomes such
as fetal growth restriction, stillbirth and preeclampsia; applicants
must have a strong academic record and be Australian citizens,
Australian permanent residents or New Zealand citizens; $30,000pa; up to
three years.

Postgraduate Scholarship in Cancer Cell Biology
A full-time postgraduate scholarship is available for a suitably
qualified candidate to investigate aspects of powerful new molecular
mechanisms targeted by novel cancer therapies; the project combines the
expertise of 3 research teams in the Bosch Institute Prostate Cancer
Focus Group; applicants should have a first class honours degree in a
related biological science; $22,500pa; up to three years.

Postgraduate Scholarship in Polymer Science
A full-time postgraduate scholarship is available for a suitably
qualified candidate to undertake research studies leading to a PhD in
Chemistry; the project is to develop new polymeric materials for
application in homecare products; Applicants must be Australian
citizens, Australian permanent residents or New Zealand citizens and
must have an Honours degree in Chemistry; $26,669pa; up to three years.
