RESEARCH: Arts Education; Semiconductors; Agricultural Economics.

 

Australian Postgraduate Award (Industry) on the Role of Arts Education
in Academic Motivation, Engagement, and Achievement (Quantitative)

This scholarship is funded by an ARC Linkage-Projects grant and will
provide support for 3 years on a full-time basis for a research project
leading to a PhD; the objective of the project is to the role of arts
education in student motivation, engagement and achievement in selected
primary and secondary schools; applicants must have an Honours 1 or 2A
degree (or equivalent Masters/Postgraduate degree) in education,
psychology, or similar, and must have research and/or applied experience
in one or more areas of student achievement, student motivation, and
student engagement; applicants must be Australian citizens, Australian
permanent residents or New Zealand citizens; $26,669 pa.

Postgraduate Scholarship in Diluted Magnetic Semiconductors

A full-time postgraduate scholarship is available for an enthusiastic
candidate to undertake research studies leading to a PhD in diluted
magnetic semiconductors; 

the project is to investigate the microscopic origin of the interesting
properties in diluted magnetic semiconductors by using advanced
microscopy and microanalysis; applicants should have an Honours 1 or 2A
or equivalent degree in science or engineering and must be Australian
citizens, Australian permanent residents or New Zealand citizens;
$26,000pa; up to three years.

PhD Scholarship in Welfare Impacts of Land Titling in Laos

One PhD scholarship is available within the Faculty of Agriculture, Food
and Natural Resources as part of an Australian Development Research
Award; the research is to investigate the welfare impacts of land
titling in the specific case of Lao PDR and involves fieldwork in Lao
PDR ; for commencement in early 2009; applicants must have completed an
Honours degree (1 or 2/1) or equivalent Masters in Agricultural
Economics, Resource Economics or Economics with a substantial research
component (or expect to complete one by the end of 2008) and must be
Australian citizens or permanent residents; $26,140pa; for one year;
renewable to three years based on satisfactory performance.
