RESEARCH:  Solid Mechanics and Manufacturing Engineering; Ruminant
Health; Oral Health; DFB Fibre Lasers.

 

Postgraduate Scholarships in Solid Mechanics and Manufacturing
Engineering

For a research projects leading to a PhD; 1 scholarship in "Cutting Tip
Design for Mining Industry"; 1 scholarship in "Wafer Technology for
Semiconductor Industry";  2 scholarships in "Manufacturing of Advanced
Hip Joint Prostheses"; 2 scholarships in "Tribology in Metal Rolling"; 2
scholarships in "Residual Stress Characterisation of Thin Film Systems";
2 scholarships in "Nano-manufacturing Technology"; applicants should
have an Hons degree in the field of manufacturing, mechanical,
materials, mechanics, or a relevant discipline; $25,118 pa; up to 3
years.

Postgraduate Scholarship in Ruminant Health

For a suitably qualified candidate with a degree in veterinary science
that is registrable in NSW to undertake research studies leading to a
Master of Veterinary Clinical Studies; the topic of the thesis will
relate to dairy cow comfort and improving cow health, production and
welfare; $38,000 pa; up to 2 years with an option for a 3rd year if
upgraded to a PhD, applicants must be Australian citizens, Australian
permanent residents or NZ citizens.

Postgraduate Scholarship in Oral Health

For a dentistry-qualified candidate with a good undergraduate degree to
undertake dentistry-related research studies leading to a MPhil or PhD
in Oral Health; research strengths in the field include oral biology,
oral physiology, public health, bioengineering and education; $25 000
pa; up to 2 years for a MPhil or up to 3 years for a PhD.

Australian Postgraduate Research Award (Industry) on DFB Fibre Lasers

For a research project leading to a PhD; the objective of the research
project is to explore new DFB fibre laser configurations for eventual
implementation as acoustic sensor heads in distributed fibre arrays;
applicants should have an H1 or 2A degree in Physical Chemistry, Physics
or Photonics Engineering; applicants must be Australian citizens,
Australian permanent residents or New Zealand citizens; $25,627 pa with
a possible loading from industry for exceptional students; up to 3
years.
