Land & Water Australia Postgraduate Scholarships 2007

Now open for applications.  Applications for this scholarship must be
submitted by the student's supervisor.  See the Land & Water Australia

Research Scholarships

 

Research Scholarship in Exercise and Ageing

A scholarship is available for PhD or Master's level candidates to
conduct a research study on the health outcomes of exercise in older
adults to begin Jan 2007; $25,188 pa; up to 2 years (Masters), 3 years
(PhD); applicants must be citizens or permanent residents of Australia.

IBM PhD Fellowship Program for the 2007-2008 Academic Year

Open to exceptional Ph.D. students in many academic disciplines and
areas of study, e.g. computer science and engineering, electrical and
mechanical engineering, physical sciences, mathematical sciences,
business and service sciences, management, and engineering; awarded
tuition fees, and a stipend for a 9mth academic year; applicants must be
enrolled full-time and must have completed at least 1 year of study in
their doctoral program at the time of their nomination.

Other Scholarships

 

Australian War Memorial Summer Vacation Scholarship Scheme 2007

For history students in the 3rd or 4th year of an undergraduate course,
or undertaking early-stage postgraduate studies; also open to students
enrolled in museum or public history courses; tenable between 2 Jan and
10 Feb 2007; $300 pw; accommodation; return fare between a scholarship
holder's home and Canberra .

The Reg Waite Award

Offered annually to young Australian citizens (between the ages of
18-25) to further their education in any chosen field; applicants need
to demonstrate: a high degree of achievement, honesty, integrity and
leadership; what they hope to achieve with the funds provided by the
award to further their education; how the award will assist them in
bettering the Nation; 1st prize ($8,000), 2nd prize ($4,500), and 3rd
prize ($3,000).

The Vasanta Scholarship 2007 (Violin, Piano, Organ, Cello or Viola)

To be used to travel abroad to study at an appropriate institution for a
period of not less than 1 year; open to students of the Violin, Piano,
Organ, Cello or Viola who have spent the greater part of their lives
prior to selection in NSW; $7,000 paid in 2 equal installments of $3,500
over 1 year.

GlaxoSmithKline and Asthma CRC PhD Scholars Program Travel Grant 2006/07

GlaxoSmithKline Australia (GSKA) in collaboration with the Asthma CRC is
pleased to offer up to 2 CRC PhD scholars a grant of up to $15,000 to
work in a GSK laboratory overseas; the Scholar must already be the
beneficiary of a research grant from a non commercial source which
represents the primary means of support for the student and must not be
employed by a competitive commercial organisation in the healthcare
industry.
