NHMRC Postgraduate Research Scholarships 2006 for 2007 - Reminder

Applications for these awards must be received by the Research Office by
Friday 14th July to enable the Research Office to check all applications
before submitting them to the NHMRC.  Essential information is contained
on the University of Sydney Submission Guidelines for the Scholarships,
including the Training Scholarships for Indigenous Health Research.
These are available on the Research Office website:

Applicants are strongly advised to complete the application form in
consultation with the NHMRC Funding Rules and the NHMRC Instruction

RESEARCH:  Human Health, Injury Rehabilitation, Speech Pathology

 

Research Scholarships

 

GlaxoSmithKline Australia Postgraduate Support Grant

Up to 6 grants are awarded in the field of human health; these are
designed to provide further financial support to PhD or Post Doctorate
research students who are already in receipt of a research grant from a
non commercial body; up to $15,000 pa; up to 2 years.

PhD Scholarship - Injury Rehabilitation

For a suitably qualified postgraduate research student to undertake
substantial research in injury, trauma and rehabilitation care on a full
time basis leading to a PhD; the study will investigate patterns of
hospital treatment of patients with hip and other fall related
fractures; $22,500 pa plus a conference/field allowance of up to $2,500
pa; up to 3 years; applicants must be Australian citizens, Australian
permanent residents or NZ citizens.

Completion Scholarship in Speech Pathology

A full-time completion scholarship is available to enable a currently
enrolled part- time PhD student in the School of Communication Sciences
and Disorders to convert the candidature to full-time from Semester 2,
2006 and submit the thesis within 12 months; applicants must have
completed no more than 2.5 years equivalent full-time candidature at the
start of Semester 2, 2006; applicants must be citizens or permanent
residents of Australia; $24,817 pa; up to 1 year.
