Research Scholarships

 

Winifred O'Neil Sydney University Postgraduate Scholarship

Open to full-time postgraduate students in Psychology: $2,500* pa; up to
3 years; based on meritorious performance in undergraduate Psychology;
preference will be given to students who are visually impaired or, if
there is no visually impaired applicant, to students with other
disability; may be awarded to a suitable candidate without disability in
the absence of suitable visually impaired or disabled applicants. 

*An increase in value is currently under consideration.

The Medical Foundation/ Bluesand Foundation Scholarship for Alzheimer's
Disease Research

For a suitable candidate who has been accepted into a full-time research
degree within the Faculty of Medicine; for research into Alzheimer's
disease; candidates must have completed the equivalent of an Australian
Bachelor degree; must be Australian citizens or permanent residents, or
citizens of NZ; $20,000; 1 year with the opportunity to apply for funds
for a 2nd year.

Australian Leadership Awards

Up to 60 doctoral and 230 masters awards offered for study commencing in
Australian universities in 2007; to be awarded to people who are already
leaders or have a potential to assume leadership roles that can
influence social and economic policy reform and development outcomes
both in their own countries and in the Asia and Pacific region; open
only to citizens of countries in the Asia-Pacific that have a current
Australian aid program; $19,231 pa; tuition fees; contributions towards
airfares.

Other Scholarships

 

AFUW-ACT Beryl Henderson Memorial Grant

Open to women who are enrolled in postgraduate programs and who are
Australian citizens; approx $1,000 to assist in completion of a research
project being undertaken in an Australian university; the award is not
limited to particular disciplines, but research focusing on issues
related to the rights and welfare of women and children will be viewed
favourably.

TASA/AASR Postgraduate Conference Scholarship Fund

The scholarships aim to support postgraduate participation at TASA
annual conferences; the recipient will receive: registration for the
annual conference; registration for the pre-conference TASA Annual
Postgraduate Workshop, a letter of acknowledgement of receipt of
scholarship;
