Research Scholarships

 

ANSTO-USyd Joint Postgraduate Scholarship in Materials Science

For a research project leading to a PhD, the project will be an
investigation of complex heavy-metal oxides as model materials for
nuclear wasteform ceramics; applicants must be Australian citizens,
Australian permanent residents or NZ citizens; $24,851 pa; up to 3
years; for commencement during Semester 2, 2006.

Postgraduate Scholarship in Public Health

Available for a suitably qualified candidate to undertake research
studies leading to a PhD; the project is to develop and evaluate a
decision aid for colorectal cancer screening for adults with low
literacy; $28,600 pa; up to 3 years.

Australian Postgraduate Award (Industry) on Pore-Graded Oxide Ceramics

For a research project leading to a PhD; the objective of the research
project is to develop porous oxide ceramics with functionally graded
pore gradients; applicants should have an Hons 1 or 2A degree in
engineering; applicants must be Australian citizens, Australian
permanent residents or NZ citizens; is $25,118 pa; up to 3 years.

Australian Postgraduate Research Award (Industry) on Locust Genetics and
Migration

For a research project leading to a PhD; the objective of the research
project is to use molecular population genetics techniques to examine
gene flow and migration in the Australian Plague locust; applicants
should have an Hons 1 or 2A degree in biology or a related discipline;
applicants must be Australian citizens, Australian permanent residents
or NZ citizens; $25,118 pa; up to 3 years.

Postgraduate Scholarship in Drug Policy and Quality Use of Medicines in
Children

Available for a suitably qualified candidate with postgraduate
qualifications in paediatrics (FRACP or equivalent) to undertake
research studies comprising a PhD in drug policy and quality use of
medicines in children; applicants must be an Australian citizen; $30,600
pa; up to 6 months in the first instance with the possibility of an
extension.

Australian Rotary Health Research Fund PhD Scholarships

4 scholarships in Pancreatic Cancer, Arthritis, Adult Leukaemia, and
Childhood Leukaemia are available for full-time PhD students studying in
NSW Universities; $25,000 pa plus incidental support; up to 3 years;
applicants must be citizens or permanent residents of Australia.
