Research Scholarships

 

Top-up Scholarship: Plant Ecophysiology and Ecosystem Processes

Available for exceptional students to join a research group
investigating the functioning of plants and ecosystems; range of
potential topics from biochemical through to ecosystem scales; the group
has strong and active international links with Canada and France, and
successful candidates may be given the opportunity of spending part of
their candidature overseas; three $8,000 top-up scholarships are
available for PhD students with an APA/UPA.

Australian Postgraduate Award (Industry) on Vision-Based Guidance,
Navigation and Control of a Tail-Sitter Unmanned Aerial Vehicle

For a research project leading to a PhD; the objective of the research
is to investigate the use of vision-based techniques to improve the
localization, navigation and control of an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle in
the event of GPS system failure or degradation; applicants should have
an Hon 1 or 2A degree, or a Masters degree, in engineering, physics or
applied mathematics; applicants must be Australian citizens, Australian
permanent residents or NZ citizens; $25,118 pa; up to 3 years.

Australian Postgraduate Award (Industry) on flood tide delta
morphodynamics and modelling  

For a research project leading to a PhD; the project investigates
wave-tide processes and sediment transport paths within a flood tide
delta-beach system and uses numerical models to describe the
hydrodynamics, sediment transport and beach response over a range of
wave, tide and sea level scenarios; 2 scholarships are available;
applicants should have an Hon 1 or 2A degree in Engineering,
Oceanography, Geosciences, IT/Computer Science, Meteorology, Applied
Mathematics or equivalent; applicants must be Australian citizens,
Australian permanent residents, or NZ citizens; $25,118 pa; up to for 3
years.

Postgraduate Scholarships in Archaeological and Environmental Research
in the Greater Angkor Area, Cambodia

For a research project leading to a PhD at the University of Sydney; for
research on the archaeological and environmental landscapes in the
greater Angkor area, Cambodia; $19,231 pa; up to 3 years; applicants
must be Australian citizens, Australian permanent residents NZ citizens
and hold an Hons or Masters degree in a relevant field.

Sugar Research and Development Corporation 2007 Scholarships

3 Postgraduate Scholarships are available to foster training in
technical and social disciplines compatible with SRDC's research
priorities; applicants must be citizens and/or permanent residents of
Australia intending to commence full time study in 2007; $26,000 pa and
$6,000 operating budget pa; up to 3 years.
