Reminder - Postgraduate Studies in the United States, Canada, & United
Kingdom

An Information Session will be held on Wednesday, 9th August, 11am -
1pm, in Carslaw Lecture Theatre 275.  Representatives from the US
Consulate, Fulbright NSW Selection Committee, Canadian High Commission,
British Council Australia, CSFP, and NSW Rhodes Scholarships Selection

Research Scholarships

 

Australian Postgraduate Award (Industry) on Australian Poetry

For a research project leading to a PhD; the project is to construct an
online library of Australian poetry, Australian Poetry Resources
Internet Library (APRIL); applicants should have an H1 or 2A degree in
Australian Literature; applicants must be Australian citizens,
Australian permanent residents, or NZ citizens; $30,118 pa in total; up
to 3 years.

Australian Postgraduate Award (Industry) on Database Support for
Scientific Algorithms

For a research project leading to a PhD; this project is to explore the
feasibility of running scientific algorithms, e.g. from the
bioinformatics area, inside a database and to develop practical
optimisation guidelines for the integration of biodata and virtual
machines in today's database engines; applicants should have an H1 or 2A
in Computer Science, IT, or Software Engineering; applicants must be
Australian citizens, Australian permanent residents, or NZ citizens;
$25,118 pa; up to 3 years.

J.W. and I. C. M. Roderick Scholarship

For postgraduate research in the School of Civil Engineering towards a
PhD; applicants should have an Hons equivalent degree in Engineering,
Science, or Applied Mathematics, and have an interest in either wind
engineering, water or coastal engineering, or ocean energy; $19,231 pa;
up to 3 years; international students can apply but the Scholarship does
not cover any tuition fees payable by them; a fees scholarship will be
provided for international students from the research group.

Julian Small Research Grant

Applications are sought from postgraduate and undergraduate students who
are undertaking research and are involved in the study of employment
related law or industrial relations; 1 or more grants of up to $14,000
will be awarded.

Other Scholarships

 

The Google 2006 Australia Anita Borg Scholarship

Applicants must be female and enrolled in an undergraduate or
postgraduate program in 2007 at a university in Australia, studying
Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or related
technical fields; scholarships will be awarded based on the strength of
candidates' academic background and demonstrated leadership; $5,000 for
the 2007 academic year.

ICCS Graduate Students Scholarships 

Up to 10 scholarships are awarded worldwide to Masters or Doctoral
candidates for short-research trips to Canada; enables successful
candidates to spend 4-6 weeks at a Canadian university doing research
related to their thesis or dissertation in the field of Canadian
Studies; maximum of C$3,500 for all expenses; applicants must be
postgraduate students in the social sciences and humanities.
