Postgraduate Scholarship in Medicinal Chemistry

Open to candidate with a 1st Class or 2nd Class Div. 1 Hons degree in
chemistry, biochemistry or a closely related subject, to undertake
research studies leading to a PhD in medicinal chemistry; the project
will involve the design and synthesis of compounds that inhibit enzymes
responsible for fungal virulence; $18,837 pa; up to 3 years.

Postgraduate Scholarship in Acoustics

Open to candidate with a masters degree in acoustics to undertake
research studies leading to a PhD in acoustics; the project is to
investigate the control of auditory room size in virtual acoustic
environments; $18,000 for 1 year; may be renewed for a further 2 years.

Postgraduate Scholarship in Molecular Weight Distribution

Open candidate with a good Hons degree (or equivalent) in science to
undertake research studies leading to a MSc; the project is to
investigate the nature of molecular weight distributions in free radical
polymerization processes; $18,837 pa; up to 2 years.

Postgraduate Research Scholarship in Advanced Microscopy & Microanalysis
of Optical Glasses

Open to candidate to undertake research studies leading to a PhD;
applicants should have an Hons 1 or 2A degree or equivalent in an
appropriate discipline; the project is to develop and use new
methodologies for advanced electron microscopy and microanalysis to
study glass structures with a focus on feedback into the design of
optical glasses and fibre fabrication technologies for photonic
applications; $24,000 pa; up to 3 years; applicants must be Australian
citizens, Australian permanent residents or NZ citizens.

Research Scholarship in Exercise and Aging

A scholarship is available for PhD or Masters candidates to conduct a
research study on the health outcomes of progressive resistance training
in older adults with type 2 diabetes; $24,388 pa; up to 2 years
(Masters), 3 years (PhD); commencing Semester 2, 05; applicants must be
citizens or permanent residents of Australia.

Postgraduate Scholarship in Bioleaching Nickel Laterite Ores

2 scholarships are available for candidates with a good Hons degree in
science or engineering to undertake research studies in Chemical
Engineering; 1 for a PhD student and the other for a MSc student; the
projects are to investigate and to delineate the mechanisms involved in
biological leaching of nickel laterite ores; $18,000 pa; up to 3 years
for PhD and 2 years for MSc; citizens or permanent residents of
Australia and international students may apply; but scholarship will not
cover any tuition fees payable by international students.

Wenkart Foundation Grant 2006

Available for research in any of clinical, biomedical and health related
sciences; funding will depend on the expenses of the project, and grants
are made for periods of up to 2 years. applicants must be permanent
residents or undergraduates educated in Australia.

Hungarian Scholarships 2005-2006

Open for foreign citizens to study or research in any field of arts and
sciences in an accredited Hungarian higher education or research
institution determined in advance; age restrictions apply: 25 years of
age for undergraduate scholarships, 35 years of age for post-graduate
scholarships, 40 years of age for doctoral scholarships, 45 years of age
for post-doctoral scholarships.
