Australian Postgraduate Award (Industry) on Phase Imaging
Available to support for 3 years on a full-time basis for a research 
project leading to a PhD; applicants should have an Hons 1 or 2A or Masters 
degree in science or engineering; the project will improve and apply an 
innovative approach to obtaining phase information from electron microscopy 
images; $23,886 pa; applicants must be Australian citizens, Australian 
permanent residents or New Zealand citizens.

ARC Postgraduate Research Scholarships on Research Ethics and the Ethical 
Review Process
Open to candidates with an Hons 1 or 2A degree or otherwise be eligible for 
candidature at the Masters or PhD level; the research is to conduct an 
analysis of research ethics and the ethical review process as culture and 
cultural process; 2 years @ $23,886 pa; applicants must be citizens or 
permanent residents of Australia.

Postgraduate Scholarship in Plant Cell Biology
Open to candidate with a good Hons degree in science to undertake research 
studies leading to a PhD; the project is to explore the cellular and 
molecular mechanism of phospholipid signalling and the microtubule 
cytoskeleton in conveying hormonal and environmental signals to the cell 
interior; $18,484 pa; up to 3 years; applicants must be citizens or 
permanent residents of Australia.

Italian Government Scholarships 2004/2005
Available to Australian citizens and Italian citizens residing in 
Australia; for conducting research in any field, postgraduate studies 
(except medical disciplines), attending courses or Italian language 
courses; 3 to 12 months; indcludes monthly instalment, health insurance 
premiums, reductions on course fees and return ticket to Italy for 
long-term (9-12 months) scholarship holder; age limit of 38 years before 
closing date (does not apply to teachers of Italian), age limit of 27 for 
studying at the National Cinema School.
