NICTA Visualisation Scholarship
Open to candidates with 1st class honours degrees in Computer 
Science/Engineering or Information Technology; applicants should have a 
particular interest in visualisation and/or related systems; at APA rate, 
$18,009 pa in 2003; up to 3 years; top-ups are also available for 
recipients of other scholarships.

Thomas and Ethel Mary Ewing Doctoral Scholarships in Education
Available for full-time research in the Faculty of Education and Social 
Work leading to the award of the degree of PhD or EdD; applicants must be 
graduates and diplomates of the Sydney Teachers' College; or graduates and 
diplomates of the Sydney Institute of Education; or graduates and 
diplomates of the USYD in the Institute of Education; or graduands, 
graduates and diplomates of the USYD in the Faculty of Education (awarded 
in 1990 and subsequent years), the awards are intended to enable fellows to 
carry out part of their research program interstate or overseas; 
approx.$18,009 pa; up to 3 years.

Completion Scholarships in the Faculty of Education and Social Work
Several awards for completion of a research higher degree within the 
Faculty of Education (PhD, EdD, MPhil); awards are intended to support the 
final stages of a research and writing program; approx. $18,009 pa 
(pro-rata) for a period of 6-8 months; anticipated completion date is 
required upon application, which must be prior to 31/12/04.

Value Added Wheat CRC Limited PhD Scholarships 2004
PhD projects are available in modern plant breeding, industrial 
biochemistry: gluten protein/lipid & protein/protein interactions and 
targeted mutagenesis technology for wheat; five of the projects will be 
located at USYD's Plant Breeding Institute in Camden; applicants should 
have an upper level 2 Honours degree or equivalent, majoring in 
agricultural chemistry, chemistry, biochemistry, plant breeding or 
molecular biology; $22,771 pa + $10,000 pa operating allowances + $1,500 pa 
training allowances; applicants must be permanent residents or citizens of 
Australia.

CSIRO Livestock Industries PhD Scholarships
2 PhD scholarships to be offered in the Australian Animal Health Laboratory 
(AAHL) located in Geelong; applicants should be completing or have 
completed an honours degree in veterinary science or science; the 
successful candidates will be able to choose a project from a number of 
specific research areas of immunology, bacteriology, proteomics or 
virology; $30,000 pa (taxable); 3 years; applicants must be Australian 
citizens or permanent residents.

Thomas T. Roberts Fellowships
Several awards for conducting research overseas in the field of Education; 
applicants must be past or present students in Education of USYD or of 
former Sydney College of Advanced Education or of the former Sydney 
Teachers' College, and must be university graduates or graduands or hold a 
degree recognized by the former Australian Council on Awards in Advanced 
Education; need to spend at least 6 weeks overseas and will demonstrate the 
potential benefit of their study to education in Australia; approx. 
$10,000; up to 1 year.
