Postgraduate Scholarship in Finance
Open to candidate with a good honours degree in commerce or economics to 
undertake research studies leading to a PhD in finance; applicants should 
have an interest in Corporate Governance and Securities Market 
Microstructure; 1 year @ $20,000; applicants must be citizens or permanent 
residents of Australia.

Australian Postgraduate Award (Industry) on the Strategic Impact of 
E-Procurement on Australian Organisations
Open to applicant with an Hons 1 or 2A degree in business information 
systems or equivalent to undertake a full-time research project leading to 
a PhD; the project is related to the area of procurement and supply chain 
management; experience/background in procurement and supply chain 
management would be an advantage; 3 years @ $30,000 pa; applicants must be 
Australian citizens, Australian permanent residents or New Zealand citizens.

Postgraduate Scholarship in Pharmacogenomics and Drug Development
Open to candidate to commence PhD studies in 2004 in the Pharmacogenomics 
and Drug Development laboratory of the Faculty of Pharmacy at USYD; the 
research will centre around human gene regulation and the molecular basis 
for human drug safety and drug development; applicants should have an H1 or 
H2.1 in biochemistry, molecular biology or a related discipline; skills and 
research experience in the area of cell culture and/or molecular methods of 
gene regulation will be given priority; 3 years @APA rate ($18,484 in 
2004); possibility of six months extension.

Postgraduate Scholarship in Breast Cancer Research
Open to candidate to undertake research studies leading to a PhD within the 
Faculty of Medicine at the Westmead Institute for Cancer Research; 
applicants should have an Hons 1 or 2A degree in science; experience in 
molecular in cell biology would be an advantage; the project will focus on 
a cancer-associated protein called BARD1; $19,000 pa in 2004; 2 years, with 
possibility of extension for 1 year; applicants must be citizens or 
permanent residents of Australia.

2004 Postgraduate Scholarships in Law
The following scholarships are open to outstanding scholars who wish to 
pursue postgraduate study in law commencing 2004, preference will be given 
to full-time research degree candidates:
1.) The Ross Waite Parsons Scholarship: 2 years for PhD, 1 year for 
Masters; $18,484 pa.
2.) The Cooke, Cooke, Coghlan, Godfrey and Littlejohn Scholarship:  1 year 
@ $18,484 pa with the possibility of an extension; $9,000 pa for 
scholarship taken at another university + discretionary grant-in-aid of up 
to $6,500 + travel allowance of up to $2,000.
3.) The Longworth Scholarship: 1 year @ $10,000 with the possibility of an 
extension.

Arrow Hawkesbury Canoe Classic Scholarship
A supplementary scholarship is available for students commencing an APA or 
comparable competitive postgraduate scholarship in 2004; in the area of 
leukaemia and transplantation; supplement up to an amount equal to the 
NHMRC Medical rate ($27,489 in 2004); 3 years; with the possibility of a 
6-month extension; please note that this is not an automatic award to all 
successful APA recipients.

2004 Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority Science for Management Awards
Available to assist the research projects of students working towards a 
Doctorate or Masters degree, which make a contribution to the management of 
the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park; and align with the Authorities 
established research priorities; studies may involve any aspect of the 
physical, biological or social, cultural and economic environments of the 
Great Barrier Reef; applicants should already be supported by their 
administering institution for basic expenses and have access to general 
equipment, library, laboratory and computing facilities for the research; 
$1000.
