Postgraduate Scholarships in Obesity Research
2 PhD scholarships are available to students undertaking a program of study 
in obesity research at an Australian University:
The National Health Foods PhD Scholarship in Childhood Obesity: $18,500 + 
$1,500 for expenses; 3 years with the possibility of a small extension.
Janet Bryson Memorial Scholarship: for 1st year PhD student; $18,500 plus 
$1,500 for expenses; 1 year with a possibility of further extension.

UCL Graduate School Research Scholarships: for MPhil or PhD; tuition fees + 
maintenance allowance of £11,000.
UCL Graduate School MRes Scholarship: for MRes and Research Council 
recognised research Master’s programmes; tuition fees + maintenance 
allowance of £11,000.
Frederick Bonnart-Braunthal Scholarship: Available for the programme of 
MPhil or PhD to explore the nature of religious, racial and cultural 
prejudices, and to find ways of combating them; £10,000.
James Lanner Memorial Scholarship: for MSc in Economics, MSc in 
Environmental Resource Economics, MPhil or PhD in Economics; £5,000.
Lloyd’s Register Scholarship: for MSc in Marine Engineering and MSc in 
Naval Architecture; £10,000.
Follet Scholarship: for MPhil or PhD in Philosophy; £10,000.
Keeling Scholarship: for MPhil or PhD in Philosophy; covers tuition fees + 
a bursary.
Thames and Hudson Scholarship: for MA in Comparative Art and Archaeology; 
up to £15,000 or a number of scholarships totalling that value.
UCL Graduate ‘Open’ Scholarship: for Master’s, MPhil or PhD; £2,500.
Closing Date: varies between 1 April and 31 July 2004
