Postgraduate Scholarship in Chemistry
Open to candidate with a good honours degree in chemistry to undertake 
research studies leading to a PhD in Chemistry; applicants should have a 
particular interest in the computational solution of X-ray crystallographic 
data; $18,009 per annum for up to 3 years; applicants must be citizens or 
permanent residents of Australia.

Postgraduate Scholarship in Molecular Biology of Drug Resistance
Open to candidate to undertake research studies leading to a MSc or PhD in 
molecular genetics; applicants should hold a 1st Class Honours degree in 
biochemistry, biotechnology or microbiology; skills in handling pathogenic 
microorganisms and a variety of molecular and biochemical techniques are 
essential, excellent oral and written communication skills and a 
demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team; 1 year @ 
$18,009 pa, may be renewed for a further 2 years; applicants must be 
Australian citizens or permanent residents.

Dr John McGeorge Postgraduate Scholarship in Psychological Medicine
Open to a full-time PhD candidate in Psychological Medicine in the Faculty 
of Medicine; 1 year but may be extended to for up to three years subject to 
satisfactory progress; the stipend and all other conditions are equivalent 
to those applying to University of Sydney Postgraduate Awards.

Australian Postgraduate Award  Industry (APAI) in Production of Optimal 
Microstructured Polymer Optical Fibre
Open to candidate to undertake research leading to a PhD; applicants should 
have an Honours 1 or 2A degree in Physics, Mathematics or Engineering; 
strong analytical and computational skills (including experience in a 
traditional programming language such as Fortran or C/C++, and experience 
with Mathematica, Matlab or equivalent environments) are essential; 3 years 
@ $23,294 pa; applicants must be citizens or permanent residents of 
Australia who have lived continuously in Australia for the past 12 months.

expression analysis, endocrinology or in pig production may be an

Open to candidate with an honours degree in Science (or an equivalent) to 
undertake research studies leading to a PhD in Neuroscience; previous 
experience with relevant anatomical and neurochemical techniques is highly 
desirable; $20,000 pa until 31/12/03, but may be renewed for further a 2 
years; applicants must be Australian citizens or permanent residents of 
Australia or they must be holders of appropriate student visa.

Menzies Research Scholarship in the Allied Health Sciences
Open to candidates who will be full-time students in a research PhD program 
which is likely to be completed during the 2 year tenure of the 
scholarship; tenable at an Australian tertiary institution; the applicant 
will generally have completed the first stage of the PhD project and will 
take up the scholarship during 2004; $24,000 pa.

Open to women of any age who wish to carry out some short project, in any 
field, that necessitates a short stay in Canberra; offers free board and 
lodging for up to 4 weeks at a residential college at the Australian 
National University, Canberra; woman graduate or final year honours student 
from a university or tertiary institution in Australia, New Zealand, Papua 
New Guinea or South Pacific countries; preferably during the 2003/2004 
summer vacation.
