Postgraduate Scholarship in Microscopy (Minerals Analysis)
Open to candidate with a good honours degree in science or engineering to 
undertake research studies leading to a PhD in Microscopy and 
Microanalysis; applicants should have an interest in microscopy and 3D 
computer imaging; skills in other fields such as computer science and 
mathematical modeling are also encouraged to apply; programming skills will 
be highly regarded; $18,009 pa; up to 3 years; applicants must be citizens 
or permanent residents of Australia.

Postgraduate Scholarship in Transplant Research
Open to candidate with an honours degree in Veterinary, Agriculture or 
Biomedical Science to undertake research studies leading to a PhD in the 
Faculty of Medicine; applicants should have an interest in transplantation 
of early-derived pancreatic tissue and the development of tissue culture 
techniques; $18,009 pa; up to 3 years; applicants must be citizens or 
permanent residents of Australia.

Centre for Ultra-high bandwidth Devices for Optical Systems Establishment 
Scholarship
Open to candidate with a 1st class honours degree or equivalent in Physics 
or Engineering to study PhD in Photonics at CUDOS; available for 1st year 
of study only; $23,294 pa; successful applicants will then be required to 
apply for other scholarships in later years.

AINSE Postgraduate Research Awards 2003
Open to postgraduate students whose research projects are associated with 
nuclear science, or its applications, and require access to the national 
facilities at the Lucas Heights Science & Technology Centre; offer to 
scholars who are (or will be) in receipt of an Australian Postgraduate 
Award (APA) or equivalent scholarship; $7,500 pa; $5,500 pa for costs 
involved in using the facilities and services at Lucas Heights + some 
travel and accommodation costs; candidates must be nominated by the 
Australia university where PhD enrolment is held or proposed for tenure 
commencing before 30 June 2003.
