Postgraduate Scholarship in Nitrile-based Latexes
Open to candidate with a good hons degree in chemistry or chemical 
engineering to undertake research studies leading to a PhD in 
structure-property relations for films formed from nitrile-based latexes 
made by emulsion polymerisation; $23,886 pa in 2004; up to 3 years.

Australian Postgraduate Award (Industry) on Axial Flow Fans
Open to candidate undertaking full-time research leading to a PhD; the 
project is to develop a CFD package for the computer simulation of a novel 
axial flow fan; applicants should have an Hons 1 or 2A degree, or a Masters 
degree, in mechanical engineering, physics or applied mathematics; 
experience in fan research and development, networked computers, linux and 
the X-windows interface are essential; $23,886 pa in 2004; applicants must 
be Australian citizens, Australian permanent residents or New Zealand 
citizens.

Australian Research Council funded PhD Scholarships & Supplementary 
Scholarships in Applied Catalysis for Environmentally Sustainable Reactions 
and Processes
Open to candidate with a good hons degree in chemistry or chemical 
engineering or a related discipline or have research experience in 
industry; the research is to investigate the preparation, characterisation 
and catalytic applications of novel organometallic catalysts for cleaner 
(i.e. more selective) hydrocarbon oxidations; 2 PhD Scholarships @ $18,484 
pa each + 2 Supplementary Scholarships @ $5,000 pa each; 3 years; 
applicants must be Australian or New Zealand citizens or Australian 
permanent residents.

3 full-time scholarships are available for candidates with a good hons 
degree or equivalent in science to undertake research studies leading to a 
PhD in proteomics; applicants should have excellent written and verbal 
skills in English, have a high degree of aptitude for independent research, 
and preferably have experience in the areas of gel electrophoresis, protein 
analysis, protein chemistry and purification, and mass spectrometry; 
$18,484 pa, up to 3 years.

Postgraduate Scholarships (2) in Nutrition and Management of Poultry
2 scholarships are available to pursue PhD in poultry nutrition and 
management studies within the Faculty of Veterinary Science at the USYD, 
Camden Campus; the project is to investigate early dietary management 
intervention on broiler breast meat yield; and Variability in performance 
and physiology of broilers fed wheat-based diets; $23,000 pa; applicants 
must be permanent residents or citizens of Australia.

Elizabeth Wunsch Postgraduate Research Scholarship in Pharmacy
Open to candidate who is eligible to enrol in, or is already enrolled in, a 
full-time higher research degree in the Faculty of Pharmacy; for both local 
and international students but the scholarship does not cover any fees 
payable by international students.  The scholarship shall be awarded on the 
basis of academic merit and research potential; $18,484 pa + a thesis 
allowance; 3 years for PhD, 2 years for Masters by research.

2004 Macleay Miklouho-Maclay Fellowship
Available to a Research Fellow to work min. 3 months to max. 12 months 
full-time or part-time equivalent at the Macleay Museum principally in the 
areas of Anthropology and Zoology but also in approved aspects of Botany or 
History of Science; up to A$12,000; the fellowship project should be 
completed by 30/06/05; applicants should be graduates of any tertiary 
institution approved by the Academic Board or an individual with an 
established scholarly reputation.
