Japanese Government Scholarships for 2004

Discipline of Marketing Research Excellence PhD Scholarship
Open to either an existing full-time student in the PhD Program in 
Marketing at the University of Sydney, a part-time PhD student seeking to 
convert to full-time status, or a new applicant to the PhD Program with 
exceptional professional credentials; new applicants to the PhD Program 
will be assessed with respect to their industry credentials as a marketing 
professional; applicants must not have an APA, APAI or equivalent 
scholarship linked to their PhD; $15,000 pa, up to 3 years.

Australian Postgraduate Award  Industry (APAI) in Neurophysiology of 
Parasitic Nematodes
Open to candidate to undertake research project leading to a PhD; 
applicants should have an Honours 1 or 2A in Science, Animal Science or 
Veterinary Science or equivalent; 3 years @ $23,294 pa; applicants must be 
citizens or permanent residents of Australia who have lived continuously in 
Australia for the past 12 months.

PhD Scholarship in Sheep-Parasite Relationships
Available for a student to conduct research in an MLA/AWI-funded project on 
internal parasites of sheep; applicants should have an Honours 1 or 2A in 
Science, Animal Science or Veterinary Science or equivalent; 3 years @ 
$25,000 pa; applicants must be citizens or permanent residents of Australia.

Postgraduate Scholarship in Pharmacy (Respiratory Science)
Open to candidate with good honours degree in chemistry, pharmacy or a 
related science discipline to undertake research studies leading to a MSc 
in Pharmacy, with the possibility of an extension to a PhD for one 
additional year; $20,000 pa, may be renewed for another year (or possibly 2 
years for PhD); applicants must be citizens or permanent residents of 
Australia.

Japanese Government Scholarships for 2004
Open to foreign students who wish to study at Japanese universities as 
research students for the academic year 2004; 2 years starting in 4/04 or 
18 months starting in 10/04; applicants must be graduates or final year 
students under 35 years of age on 1/4/04 (born or after 2 April 1996) and 
must also be willing to study the Japanese language, and to receive 
instruction in that language; covers a monthly allowance, airfare, arrival 
allowances, school fees, accommodations and students may receive subvention 
for part of the medical expenses in Japan; applicants must be citizens of 
Australia.
