PhD Supplementary Scholarship in Economic Modelling and Analysis 
Econometrics and Business Statistics
Open to candidates to undertake a Ph.D. program of research; the apppintee 
will have a first class honours (or masters) degree in Economics or 
Econometrics, good quantitative and computing skills, and been awarded 
either an Australian Postgraduate Award (APA) tenable at the University of 
Sydney or a University of Sydney Postgraduate Award (UPA); the appointee 
will undertake research in one of a range of ARC funded projects; $5162 pa 
for up to 3 years.

Postgraduate Research Scholarships in the Discipline of Economics
Up to 4 scholarships are offering to full-time candidates who will enrol in 
the PhD program in the discipline of Economics in 2003; eligibility 
criteria, tenure and benefits are similar to that of the Australian 
Postgraduate Award (APA); application for the scholarships is automatic 
upon application for an APA/UPA; international students who have already 
applied for an IPRS will also be considered.

Supplementary Scholarships in the Discipline of Economics
Up to four supplementary scholarships are offering to successful 
APA/UPA/IPRS applicants who will enrol in the PhD program in the Discipline 
of Economics in 2003; approx. $5,000 pa for the duration of the 
APA/UPA/IPRS.  Successful APA/UPA/IPRS applicants will be automatically 
considered for the additional funding and there is no need to lodge a 
separate application.

Postgraduate Research Scholarship for an Indigenous Student in the College 
of Health Sciences
Open to qualified Indigenous candidate in the College of Health Sciences to 
undertake research studies leading to either a Masters by Research or PhD 
in any of the health sciences; applicants must be Australian Aboriginal or 
Torres Strait Islander students; eligibility criteria, tenure and benefits 
are similar to those of the Australian and Postgraduate Award (APA) and 
will be offered to unsuccessful applicant of APA or UPA; application for 
the College scholarship is automatic upon application for an APA or UPA.

Frank Knox Memorial Fellowships to Harvard University
Open to Australian citizens normally resident in Australia who have 
recently graduated or are about to graduate from an Australian institution 
and have spent at least two of the last four years at university at the 
time of application and who have graduated no earlier than 2001 or will 
graduate before September 2003; to undertake postgraduate study at Harvard 
University in the US academic year 2003-2004; covers the living expenses of 
a single fellow, tuition fees, student health insurance and service fees; 
up to 2 years for students in degree programs requiring more than 1 year of 
study; admission to a Harvard Graduate School is a prior condition of the 
award.

Dissertation Fellowships on Global Security and Cooperation
Open to students working towards the PhD or equivalent for 2 years 
fellowship; the first year must be spent working at a non-governmental, 
international or multilateral organization involved in peace and security 
issues outside the applicant's country of residence; the second year must 
be spent conducting a research project related to that experience; max. 
US$19,000 pa.
