Book Launch for Some New World, by Professor Peter Harrison

The School of Philosophy & Theology and the Institute for Ethics & Society at the University of Notre Dame Australia are delighted to host a book launch for Some New World: Myths of Supernatural Belief in a Secular Age by UNDA Professorial Research Fellow Peter Harrison.

Published by Cambridge University Press, Some New World explores the modern problem of supernatural belief and the disjuncture between contemporary Western culture and medieval societies. In this masterful contribution to intellectual history, Peter Harrison overturns crucial misconceptions – ‘myths’ – about secular modernity, challenging common misunderstandings of the past even as he reinvigorates religious thinking in the present. https://url.au.m.mimecastprotect.com/s/MPfTCANpgjCrn02W9iGCfgS?domain=cambridge.org
