Call for Nominations: The ACAMAR Australian Advisory Committee

Applications close on 15 July 2022, 9 PM AEST. Late applications will not be accepted.

On behalf of the Australian Department of Industry, Science, Energy and Resources (DISER), Astronomy Australia Limited (AAL) seeks to appoint two new members to the ACAMAR Australian Advisory Committee.

The Australia-ChinA ConsortiuM for Astrophysical Research (ACAMAR) is a joint China-Australia research centre between the Chinese Academy of Sciences, DISER, and AAL, formed to collaborate on areas of common interest within astronomy, astrophysics and cosmology.

The Committee meets online quarterly, with the purpose to fulfil its governance responsibilities through the provision of high-level advice related to the delivery of ACAMAR activities. The terms of two committee members expire at the end of June 2022, creating vacancies on the committee. AAL is inviting applications from suitably qualified Australian-based astronomers, willing to represent the astronomy community on the ACAMAR Australian Advisory Committee. The term of these appointments is two years. Please see more information in the attached position description.

If you wish to apply, please email Shona Madoc (shona.madoc at astronomyaustralia.org.au), AAL Program Manager, with a maximum three-page application containing:
A covering letter describing your relevant expertise
A brief CV
Any relevant conflicts of interest.
Please do not hesitate to contact Shona if you have any questions. AAL is committed to equity and diversity and encourages applications from all interested candidates with the appropriate expertise and skills.

Applications close on 15 July 2022, 9 PM AEST. Late applications will not be accepted.

Kind regards,

Romy
