[ASA] FIrst public release of eROSITA data

Dear All,

I would like to draw your attention to the first data release from the German eROSITA Consortium (eROSITA_DE). This Early Data Release (EDR; https://protect-au.mimecast.com/s/cP00CmO5glujLmxLPIGimbK?domain=erosita.mpe.mpg.de) contains calibrated event lists and catalogues derived from observations taken during the Calibration and Performance Verification phase of the mission. Details of the observed fields can be found at https://protect-au.mimecast.com/s/Luj4Cnx1jni7pJEp3fJOqKe?domain=erosita.mpe.mpg.de.

Complementing the EDR was a splash of 35 papers (https://protect-au.mimecast.com/s/hUnxCoV1kpfrp7npPiV2AXA?domain=erosita.mpe.mpg.de) and the release of the eROSITA Science Analysis Software System (AKA eSASS; https://protect-au.mimecast.com/s/LaGWCp81lrtnEj2EOIGfpep?domain=erosita.mpe.mpg.de), which contains the tools necessary to calibrate and analyse eROSITA data.

In addition to EDR data, astronomers based at Australian institutions can access non-public eROSITA_DE data through a Memorandum of Understanding facilitated by Astronomy Australia Limited. This MoU enables collaborative projects that make use of products associated with both the eROSITA_DE survey and Australian surveys/facilities. There are 17 active projects under this agreement.
