Dear all,

You are invited to apply for individual or junior membership of the IAU. The IAU is now accepting membership applications on a yearly basis (previously new members were only accepted in the year preceding a general assembly).

The application forms and definition of membership categories are as follows:

Individual Member:

Professional scientists whose research is directly relevant to some branch of astronomy are eligible to apply as Individual Members. Individual Members are, normally, admitted by the Executive Committee<https://protect-au.mimecast.com/s/Z2kFC5QPXJi5WA7oIz2eSw?domain=iau.org> on the proposal of a National Member.

  * Please fill out the Individual Membership application form at https://protect-au.mimecast.com/s/oAr4C6XQ4LfjGXvEs6uiiB?domain=iau.org .

Junior Member:

Junior scientists who have completed their PhD studies between 2014 and 2019 and who are in the initial phase of the career of a professional researcher in some branch of astronomy or a related field may be admitted to the Union by the Executive Committee<https://protect-au.mimecast.com/s/Z2kFC5QPXJi5WA7oIz2eSw?domain=iau.org/> as Junior Members, for a period not exceeding 6 years.

  * Please fill out the Junior Membership application form at https://protect-au.mimecast.com/s/Jh-0C71R2NT4WLKvIBTZ8c?domain=iau.org.

The deadline for applications is 30 November 2020, and the NCA will review all applications for approval at their meeting in early December.

Outcomes will be confirmed by the IAU in 2021.

Many thanks,

Virginia
