Hello yet again,

The local lighting industry seems to be ramping up hiring these days.

Trend Lighting<https://protect-au.mimecast.com/s/YdTSCr81nyt8EGk6rc7KiL4?domain=trendlighting.com.au> is looking for a recent graduate to work in lighting sales. They want a full-time employee with lighting knowledge who can call on architects, designers, and electrical engineers. Sales experience is a plus, but not required. If you’re interested, contact Nicholas Spyrakis at nicholas at trendlighting.com.au<mailto:nicholas at trendlighting.com.au> or (+61) 401 884 370.

Regardless of whether you’re interested in this particular position: over the years, I’ve encouraged a number of students to be open to opportunities in sales. While it’s not a job that’s suitable for everyone, it can be a great opportunity to meet a ton of people in the industry (and is a good option for people who want more social interaction than most design jobs afford), learn a lot about lighting technology, and generally learn how the industry works. Sales reps are an integral part of the architectural lighting design process – the job isn’t at all like the negative stereotypes of salespeople that you may hold (if you don’t have any experience in lighting).
