Zumtobel Group is looking to hire a Lighting Designer.

This is a multifaceted role providing quality technical/ customer service support

• To provide lighting designs to a variety of users to encourage orders to be placed against those designs to be actioned by the sales force

• Service external customers by offering suitable technical lighting advice on the product range and the best possible solution to remedy design issues

• Provide internal customers with administrative and technical support

Qualifications and Experience:



•         Ideally two years’ experience in a similar role within the design industry (preferably from an architecture/electrical background or related field)

•         Intermediate to advanced skills on MS Office Application, AGI32 and AutoCAD

•         Knowledge of relevant Australian Standards and regulations

•         Demonstrated ability to grasp technical aspects is critical

•         Ability to read and understand architectural drawings and RCPs

•         Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team

•         Ability to work under time constraints and in a multi-tasking environment





General Responsibilities:





•         Takes enquiries from customers, understands the issue, makes decisions within guidelines and actions the design

•         Provide support to account managers, product managers, engineers and clients with lighting designs and technical support

•         Provide lighting design support for a variety of applications like architectural lighting, exterior lighting and sports lighting (AS/NZS1158, 1680, 2293, 2560 and 4282)

•         Proficient in lighting design software like AGI32, Dialux, Revit and AutoCAD

•         Prepare detailed project documentation like compliance drawings (as per Australian Standards, National Construction Codes, Local Council Regulations or Specific Project Brief), architectural lighting layouts and renders for tender approval and construction

•         Integrate lighting layouts with mechanical, electrical and structural drawings

•         Assist in preparation of specifications and quotations for key accounts

•         Liaise with consulting engineers, architects, contractors and end users on developing lighting solutions considering budget constraints, energy efficiency and product lead time

•         Learn and understand existing and new products released by the group

•         Take self-responsibility in maintaining excellent levels of technical and product knowledge enough to perform the role well

•         Ensure absolute adherence to company’s policies and procedures relating to quality, environment and safety
