Dear Friends,

Dates for the scheduled upcoming research papers in the series have been changed at short notice as follows:

Due to the industrial action taking place at the University of Sydney on the 11th and 12th of May, we will be changing the dates for our next two online seminar presentations.

Our Classics and Ancient History/CCANESA online research seminar series will now take place on Thursday, May 19th at 4pm, (AEST UTC/GMT +10) with Greta Hawes (Harvard University). We are very grateful to our speaker for accommodating this change of date and her generous expressions of support for USYD staff.

Dr. Hawes' paper is titled: "Mythic world-building in Ps-Plutarch’s On Rivers."

The following Classics and Ancient History/CCANESA online research seminar series will therefore take place on Thursday, May 26th at 4pm, (AEST UTC/GMT +10) with Elke Nash (University of Auckland), to whom we are also very grateful for accommodating this change of date.

For your diaries the remaining presentations in the series are as follows (with adjusted dates)

May 19th (4pm AEDT/UTC+10)
Greta Hawes (Harvard University)
“Greek mythic world-building in traditional and inventive modes”

May 26th (4pm AEDT/UTC+10)
Elke Nash (University of Auckland)
“Electra: a case study on unreconciled grief”

June 2nd (4pm AEDT/UTC+10)
Tristan Bradshaw (University of Wollongong)
“Aristotle, Marx, Exchange: Human animality and history, in and out of capitalism”

I will send out Zoom details again for all upcoming presentations in coming days.

Apologies for any inconvenience, many thanks
best, Ben
