Dear Friends,
It is with great pleasure that we are able to offer a partial resurrection of the schedule of research presentations that had originally been organised for Semester 1, 2020 in the Department of Classics and Ancient History at the University of Sydney. As you are all aware, the original schedule was cancelled as a result of COVID-19 restrictions. With assistance of CCANESA’s Research Team (Emma Barlow and Louise Pryke) we are able to offer a modified schedule of presentations via Zoom, the remote conferencing application.
I will soon send out a flyer for our revised schedule. As usual, notifications of each event (or changes to its details) will be sent out one week before the scheduled date and further details can be found on the SOPHI Events site.
The seminars will be held via Zoom. Please see below for instructions and our protocols for participation.
Our first online seminar will take place on Thursday, APRIL 23rd at 4pm (for 4.15pm)
Our presenter will be
Natalie Mendes (University of Sydney)
Poor Offerings by Late Antique Peasants: Evidence for Pagan Ritual in Post-Constantinian North Africa
