Research Scholarships

 

Postgraduate Scholarship in Cancer Cell Biology

This scholarship will provide support for a full-time research project
leading to a PhD or Masters degree with the Dermatology Research
Laboratories; the objective is to investigate the cellular and molecular
mechanisms by which the Snail family of transcription factors contribute
to the malignancy of squamous cell carcinomas and their recurrence
following treatment; applicants should have honours 1 or equivalent, and
should be Australian citizens, Australian permanent residents or New
Zealand citizens; $22,860pa tax exempt; up to three years.

Postgraduate Scholarship for Dementia Epidemiology Research Study

A full-time PhD scholarship is available for a suitably qualified health
professional to work with the Concord Health and Ageing in Men Project
(CHAMP) at the Centre for Education and Research on Ageing (CERA); the
project will look at the incidence and risk factors for dementia;
applicants must be Australian citizens, Australian permanent residents
or New Zealand citizens; applicants must be a member of their relevant
professional body, have relevant professional experience, and hold a
current NSW driver's license; at $30,000pa; up to three years.

Postgraduate Scholarship in Neuroscience

A full-time postgraduate scholarship is available to undertake research
studies leading to a Masters/PhD in Neuroscience; the project is to
investigate the phenomenon of freezing of gait in Parkinson's disease;
applicants must have an Honours degree in medicine and must be an
Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident or New Zealand
citizen; applicants should have passed FRACP examination; $35,000pa; up
to three years.
