Research Scholarships

 

Postgraduate Scholarship in Biomechanics

A full-time postgraduate scholarship is available for a suitably
qualified candidate to undertake research studies leading to a PhD; the
project is to investigate the biomechanics issues and design
optimization for the deployment and operation of arterial stents;
applicants must have a first class honours (or an equivalent) degree in
science and/or engineering; international students can apply but please
note that the scholarship provides a stipend only and does not cover any
tuition fees; $22,500pa; up to three years. 

Closing Date:  12 May 2010

 

Postgraduate Scholarship in Resilience to Psychological Distress

This scholarship will provide support for 3 years on a full-time basis
for a research project leading to a PhD; the project aims to explore
either factors that predict psychological resilience to trauma or the
investigation into whether psychological resilience can be learned;
applicants should have an Honours 1 or 2A degree in Psychology;
applicants must be Australian citizens, Australian permanent residents
or New Zealand citizens; $22,500pa; up to three years.

Postgraduate Scholarship in Nutritional Qualities of Potatoes

A full-time postgraduate scholarship is on offer to undertake research
studies leading to a PhD in the Faculty of Agriculture, Food and Natural
Resources; the project will focus on the nutritional qualities of
potatoes and will involve collaboration with the Australian potato
growing industry; applicants must have an honours or masters level
degree in nutrition science or a closely related discipline and have a
background in biochemistry or chemistry; applicants must be Australian
citizens, Australian permanent residents or New Zealand citizens; the
award of this scholarship will be conditional on the University signing
an agreement with the funding body; $22,500pa; up to three years.
