Research Scholarships
Postgraduate Scholarship in Decision Neuroscience
A full-time postgraduate scholarship is available for a suitably
qualified candidate to undertake research studies leading to a PhD in
Decision Neuroscience; the project is focused on investigating the
interaction of cognitive and emotional processes in decision-making in
both human and non-human animal subjects; applicants should have a good
honours degree (or equivalent) in science and be Australian citizens or
Australian permanent residents; the successful applicant must commence
by 30 July 2010; $26,140pa; up to three years.

The Garnett Passe and Rodney Williams Memorial Foundation Research
Scholarships
Applications are invited for Research Scholarships in
Otorhinolaryngology or the related fields of biomedical science to
commence in 2011; applicants must be enrolled for a higher university
degree; tenable in Australian or New Zealand institutions; valued up to
the NHMRC Medical/Dental rate; for up to three years.
Closing Date: 20 August 2010
The George Institute for International Health Top-up Scholarships
A number of top-up scholarships will be offered to students who are
successful in obtaining a APA/UPA or NHMRC Scholarship commencing 2011,
Semester 1; topic areas include back pain, rehabilitation, contracture,
indigenous health; from $5,000pa; up to three years.
Closing Date: 29 October 2010
Brain and Mind Research Institute Top-up Scholarships
Up to three top-up scholarships will be offered to students who are
successful in obtaining a primary scholarship such as an APA/UPA;
overseas students can apply provided tuition fee and living allowance
have already been obtained; $5,000pa.

Other Scholarships
Heart Foundation Travel Grants
The Heart Foundation (HF) offers Travel Grants to researchers working in
the area of cardiovascular disease or related areas; students studying
for their higher degrees can apply; applicants must be Australian
citizens or permanent residents and based in Australia; valued up to
$2,000 pa.
Closing Date: 2 August 2010
National Climate Change Adaptation Research Facility - Terrestrial
Biodiversity Adaptation Research Network Research Grants
Up to 10 honours / masters research grants valued at $7,000 each will be
offered; applications will be accepted in a wide range of disciplines
relevant to the area of climate change adaptation for Terrestrial
Biodiversity; open to domestic students; up to 10 grants are available
for PhD students to visit and collaborate with national and
international labs and research centres in order to help them gain
skills not provided in their own research environment; up to a maximum
of $3,000.
