Research Scholarships 

 

Australian Postgraduate Award (Industry) on Gene Expression in the
Hepatitis C Virus Infected Host 

A scholarship funded by an ARC Linkage-Projects grant and will provide
support for a full-time research project leading to a PhD; the objective
of the research project is to study gene expression in hepatitis C virus
(HCV) infected individuals and using cell cultures to develop diagnostic
markers to predict response to therapy; applicants should have an
Honours 1 or 2A degree; international applicants are welcome to apply
however the scholarship does not cover any tuition fees payable by
international students;  $26,669pa; up to three years.

Postgraduate Scholarship in Learning Technologies

One scholarship is available for a research project leading to a PhD in
Engineering; the project is to apply textual data mining techniques to
eLearning applications; applicants should have an Honours 1 or 2A degree
in a relevant field; $22,500pa; up to two years. 

Closing Date:  10 February 2010

 

Postgraduate Scholarship in Neuroscience

A full-time postgraduate scholarship is available for a suitably
qualified candidate to undertake research studies leading to a PhD in
Neuroscience; the project is to investigate novel calcium channel
antagonists potential pain therapeutics; applicants should have a good
honours degree (or equivalent) in science or medicine; international
applicants are welcome to apply however the scholarship does not cover
any tuition fees payable by international students; $15,000pa; up to
three years.

The Colgate-Palmolive Postgraduate Scholarship in Population Oral
Health, Faculty of Dentistry

Colgate-Palmolive Pty Limited will fund a full time postgraduate
scholarship within the Faculty of Dentistry; the scholarship is to
attract dental graduates of superior calibre who can make a worthy and
notable contribution to the research profile of the Faculty; applicants
must be dental graduates from a recognised Dental School; applicants
must be enrolled or enrolling in a PhD in the field of population oral
health and have the capacity to make a contribution to the teaching
activities of the Faculty; $25,000pa; up to three years.

The Tempe Mann Travelling Scholarship  

The Australian Federation of Graduate Women NSW Inc offers the Tempe
Mann Annual Scholarship to support the undertaking of a short period of
advanced research or course work/study in any field at an overseas
university or equivalent institution; applications are open to women who
hold a degree from the University of Sydney and are enrolled in a NSW
university as a doctorate or research masters student; valued at $7,500.


Closing Date:  30 April 2010
