Postgraduate Scholarship in Infectious Disease Informatics

A scholarship is available in the field of Infectious Disease
Informatics; the project is to study innovative bacterial genomics
guided surveillance of hospital acquired infections including rapid
detection and control of pathogens with epidemic potential; applicants
should have a background in biomedical or computer science or related
discipline and must be Australian citizens, Australian permanent
residents or New Zealand citizens; $22,860pa; up to three years.

Postgraduate Scholarship in Dermatology

A scholarship is available for a Masters student in the field of
Dermatology; the project is to investigate the effects of nicotinamide
on human skin immune responses; applicants must be citizens or permanent
residents of Australia; $26,000pa; up to two years.

Postgraduate Scholarship in Behavioural Neuroscience

A full-time postgraduate scholarship is available in the field of
Behavioural Neuroscience; the project is to investigate the role of
basal ganglia in decision-making; applicants should have a particular
interest in the use of rodent models of specific psychopathology and can
be International students, Australian citizens, Australian permanent
residents or New Zealand citizens; $26,140; up to three years.

PhD Scholarship: Nutrient Cycling in Forest Ecosystems

A PhD scholarship funded by an ARC Linkage-Project is available to study
Nutrient Cycling in Forest Ecosystem; the objective of the research
project is to explore the significance of organic nitrogen for ecosystem
cycling of N in Eucalyptus ecosystems; applicants should have an Honours
1 or 2A degree in biology, agriculture or biogeochemistry and be an
Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident or New Zealand
citizen; $26,669pa; up to three years.

Australian Postgraduate Award (Industry) in Fuzzy Spatial Temporal
Climate Modelling

A PhD funded by an ARC Linkage-Project is available to study Fuzzy
Spatial Temporal Climate Modelling; the objective of the research
project is to develop a prediction model of seasonal rainfall and
temperature based on fuzzy theory and data mining techniques; applicants
should have an Honours 1 or 2A degree in Science, Engineering,
Agricultural Science or Land and Water Science. Demonstrated experience
in programming mathematical algorithms using command line or research
level programming languages (R, Matlab, Java, Fortran or C) is
essential; $27,222pa; up to three years.

Postgraduate Scholarship on Social Transformation and International
Migration

A scholarship is available in the field of Social Transformation and
International Migration; this will be part of a five-year project which
will re-examine the theoretical and methodological basis of
international migration research and relates specifically to
participation in the case-study on Turkey; applicants should have a good
honours or masters degree in a relevant social science (this may be
sociology or another appropriate discipline) and have a strong interest
in international migration; APA rate which is $22,860pa in 2011;  up to
three years.
