2010 University of Sydney Grants-In-Aid 2010.
Grants-in-Aid provides enrolled students with travel grants to support
short-term periods of research overseas, and most grants are open only
to full-time postgraduate research students. The 2010 Grants-in-Aid are
now open for applications, and will close on 30th April 2010. Please see

Research Scholarships
Australian Postgraduate Research Award (Industry) on ecosystem cycling
of N in forest plantations
This scholarship is funded by an ARC Linkage-Projects grant and will
provide support for 3 years on a full-time basis for a research project
leading to a PhD; the objective of the research project is to explore
the significance of organic nitrogen for the nutrition of plantation
Eucalyptus species; applicants should have an Honours 1 or 2A degree in
biology, agriculture or biogeochemistry; applicants must be Australian
citizens, Australian permanent residents or New Zealand citizens;
$26,669pa; up to three years.

The Menzies Foundation Allied Health Sciences Scholarships
The Sir Robert Menzies Memorial Foundation wishes to stimulate research
in the allied health sciences and is now offering one or two research
scholarships in this field; the applicant will generally have completed
the first stage of a PhD project; the scholarship is to try to improve
the health of Australians by supporting an outstanding applicant from
one of the non-medical allied health disciplines whose research is
likely to fall outside the conventional areas of medical research;
fields of research include but are not limited to clinical psychology,
nutrition, nursing, occupational therapy, physiotherapy and speech
pathology; applicants must be Australian citizens of at least 5 years
standing; $27,500pa; up to two years.

Other Scholarships
Beryl Henderson Memorial Grant
The Beryl Henderson Foundation and the Australian Federation of
University Women will in 2010-11 offer one grant of up to $1500 to
assist in completion of a research project being undertaken by a female
student or researcher in an Australian university or tertiary institute;
applicants must be enrolled either in Honours IV, or a program at an
Australian tertiary institution leading to the award of a degree, or
embarked on research work with publication in Australia in view.
Closing Date: 31 July 2010
