ANZAC Research Institute Postgraduate Scholarships

The ANZAC Research Institute offers full-time postgraduate scholarships
tenable for research work at the Institute based on the Concord Hospital
campus; the applicant should be enrolled in a full-time PhD research
degree at the University of Sydney or another University; applicants
must be citizens or permanent residents of Australia or citizens of New
Zealand; applicants should have an Honours 1 or 2A degree or equivalent;
up to three years.  

Closing Date: always open for application. 

 

Australian Postgraduate Award (Industry) on the Auditability of Soil
Carbon

This scholarship will provide support on a full-time basis for a
research project leading to a PhD with the Faculty of Agriculture, Food
and Natural Resources; the project looks at soil systems as a
significant terrestrial sink of carbon; applicants must be Australian
citizens, Australian permanent residents or New Zealand citizens;
applicants should have an Honours 1 or 2A degree; $26,669pa; up to three
years.

Postgraduate Scholarship in Health Economics

Applications are invited for one or more full-time postgraduate
scholarships leading to a PhD in Public Health;  the research will
involve use of large clinical and administrative data sets containing
individual level information on costs, outcomes and quality of life of
people with chronic diseases such diabetes; suitably qualified
candidates will have Hons degree, or equivalent, in economics;
applicants must be Australian citizens, Australian permanent residents
or New Zealand citizens; $26,359 pa; up to three years.

PhD Scholarship in Chemical Engineering

A scholarship is available on a full-time basis for a research project
leading to a PhD at the University of Sydney; the objective of the
project is to investigate the synthesis of solid state carbon dioxide
sorbents; applicants should have an Honours 1 degree in Chemical
Engineering, Chemistry, or a related discipline; $20,427pa; up to three
years.

Association for Canadian Studies in Australia and New Zealand (ACSANZ)
2009/2010 Awards

Several types of grants are available to postgraduates to conduct
research on Canada; all grants are administered by the Canadian High
Commission in Canberra; grants available to postgraduate students
include the ACSANZ Postgraduate Travel Award, the Doctoral Student
Research Award (DSRA), the ICCS Best Doctoral Thesis in Canadian Studies
and the ICCS Graduate Student Scholarship.

The Menzies Foundation Allied Health Sciences Scholarships

The Sir Robert Menzies Memorial Foundation is offering up to three
research scholarships; the applicant will generally have completed the
first stage of a PhD project; aimed at non-medical allied health
disciplines where research is likely to fall outside the conventional
areas of medical research; applicants must be Australian citizens of at
least 5 years standing; $27,500pa; up to two years.
