Postgraduate Scholarship in Bone Biology

A full-time postgraduate scholarship is available to undertake research
leading to a PhD; to be conducted at ANZAC Research Institute to study
the effect of glucocorticoids on bone; candidates should have an Honours
1 or 2A degree or equivalent; applicants must be citizens or permanent
residents of Australia or citizens of New Zealand; $26,407pa; up to
three years.

Children's Hospital at Westmead Mitochondrial Diseases Research
Scholarship

A scholarship is being offered to a student who undertakes a PhD working
on molecular and functional studies in the mitochondrial respiratory
chain disorders; applicants should have an Honours Class 1 degree from
an Australian university (or equivalent); applicants must be Australian
citizens, Australian permanent residents, or New Zealand citizens;
applicants  must be commencing a Doctor of Philosophy through the
Faculty of Medicine at the University of Sydney in Semester 1, 2009;
$25,000pa; up to three years.

Postgraduate Scholarship on Grid-Connected Power Electronics System for
Photovoltaic Modules   

There are two scholarships which will provide support on a full-time
basis for a research project leading to a PhD; the objective of the
research is to analyze, design and experiment with new high-efficient
and hot-swappable grid-connected power electronics systems for
photovoltaic modules for future practical use; applicants should have an
Honours 1 or 2A degree in electrical engineering or electronic
engineering; local and international students can apply but the
scholarship does not cover any tuition fees payable by international
students; $23,000pa; up to three years; a school top-up scholarship of
$7,000pa is available.

Postgraduate Scholarship in Novel Methods to Assess Cellular Oxidative
Stress

A full-time Post-graduate Scholarship is available for a suitably
qualified candidate with an excellent Honours degree in chemistry,
biochemistry, pharmacology or medical science to undertake research
studies leading to a PhD in Pathology; the Scholarship is for research
aimed at establishing new analytical methods to detect and quantify
reactive oxygen and nitrogen species in cells and tissues using
HPLC-mass spectrometry and other analytical techniques; applicants must
be Australian citizens, Australian permanent residents or New Zealand
citizens; $20,427pa (tax exempt); up to three years.
